Whenever I have had to make a big decision, I have always been comforted by the words in the book of Isaiah. If you have had a rough start to the year (or even if you’ve had a great start to the year), I encourage you to dive into the book of Isaiah and see what God has to say about your past, present, and future. Here is a list of 10 verses that have helped me get up, get going, and press on.
10. “I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord.” - Isaiah 66:9
9. “Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10
8. I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” - Isaiah 46:4
7. “When you go through deep waters I will be with you. And when you go through rivers of difficulty you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up. The flames will not consume you.” - Isaiah 43:2
6. “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” - Isaiah 43:19
5. “The Lord gives perfect peace to those whose faith is firm.” - Isaiah 26:3
4. “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” - Isaiah 40:29
3. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” - Isaiah 40:31
2. “Fear not for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name, you are mine.” - Isaiah 42:1
1. “All the forces of darkness cannot stop what God has ordained.” - Isaiah 14:27
