In His Image

So... you looked in the mirror this morning and picked yourself apart again.

I see you, sister.

And so does the Father.

The difference in what we see? You see problems that need solutions; I see beauty that needs recognized; the Father sees His creation that needs His love.

See, He created you in His image. You are His child. So He sees a person He created, knit together, understands, and loves. He sees who you are, not just what you look like.

What you perceive about yourself in the reflection of your outward appearance shows what you believe about your inward identity. If you look in the mirror and pick yourself apart, you aren't believing that you are a child of the King. You aren't believing that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. The voice of the enemy is creeping in, and as much as you don't want to believe it, you're agreeing with the lies. And the Father wants to pull you back in, reel in your thoughts, and replace those lies with undeniable truth about who you are and where you came from.

Surround yourself with that truth today. Learn about your Father; learn about your heritage as a child of the King; learn about the One who created you. When you understand Him, you will understand who you are... the way He sees you.
